I see the world as a series of pictures surrounded by frames. While I am strongly "visual" I also value the juxtaposition of words with many of my images, often in the form of poetry. I am excited by strong composition and almost tactile texture but essentially I like to balance blocks of light and dark, and to divide pictures into sub-fragments separated by horizontal, vertical or diagonal elements.

I prefer to use more than one image to portray a theme and create ongoing projects of related images. Thematic work allows me to explore a chosen subject in greater depth and more clearly bring across my views and ideas.

Despite the sharpness of many of my own images I am intrigued by captured movement through selective blurring and by softness resulting from the bleeding into one another of sooty blacks and diaphanous whites.
