I was walking through a nearby park this fall looking for mushrooms to photograph when I only noticed this one because of the way the light was shining through the fallen leaf beside it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the pine needle had recently fallen toward the ground so hard that it pierced the tiny mushroom!
