This painting is about things I treasure. My husband grows beautiful orchids. The statues were gifts from my children and their paternal grandmother, who has passed away. The photos were a challenge to paint, as the images are distorted when the sit an angle to the viewer. The photos are of my boys, and my husband and I.

I love the orchids, especially the interesting lines of the roots around the basket. I was very interested in the over all color balance. I wanted to set a mood, yet keep it fresh and lively!
