This mixed media painting merges nostalgic memories of schoolbooks,farms and chickens ..with a portrait of a child from the past..This young girl's portrait was originally part of a group of schoolkids posing most seriously for their class picture..I have incorporated original storybook ephemera and painted my figure with acrylic paint and gel medium..The entire painting was also initially painted with acrylic on canvas..The sweet innocence of bygone days ,farmyard memories coupled with the magic of early readers and storybooks intrigues and inspires me..
