Using found images from Turn of the century vintage portraits which catch her eye-Heather incorporates these precious pictures into her art. Her process involves painting with acrylic paint and acrylic matte medium( both as a sealer and sealant)..This in fact recreates the image as a new art form /painting in which other elements are introduced. Her art becomes in fact an interesting hybrid of collage and painting..with a twist of whimsy and realism. After many years as a classical painter and illustrator Heather has found a style which works for her and helps expand upon her imagination and fondness for preserving the past..

Collage and assemblage bring out the inner scavenger in her, and she savors discarded finds and utilizes found objects in new enticing ways.
