This piece is inspired by a photograph I took at the New England Aquarium in Boston. As I began to paint, thoughts of the famous print, "The Great Wave of Kanagawa", by Japanese artist, Hokusai, passed through my mind.

The photo is an image of a large fish passing by my camera. This painting, to me, is a scene of a dreamy aquatic world on a moonlit night.
