Artist's Statement

As a full-time artist born, raised and currently residing on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast , my art is greatly influenced by my Southern Culture. I am fascinated by ordinary, everyday people - their expressions, beliefs, squirky eccentric habits and their often neurotic relationships with their pets and each other. The human figure is one of my favorite subjects and in my paintings, no one is self conscious of their body - they have made peace with it and are just carrying on with life. They have much more important things with which to concern themselves.

You will also find a lot of pet-related subject matter in my work. I find animals, especially dog and cats to be wonderfully expressive subjects and their own little everyday agendas pretty interesting as well.

I hope my art brings a smile to your face. A smile or a chuckle are some of my best rewards.
