The cracked, brown earth, looks like ancient earthen-ware, Spreads out its dusty, worn Old surface, baked and bare. The Sun above is bright and hot !! burning down upon the earth drying up any moisture left there .All we can do is wait till the rains come again This painting consist of Blues ,off white ,Terracotta and Gold .. The blue is to represent the water that has dried up as well as the blue skies ,the Gold is a reflection of the burning hot sun ,the Terracotta and off white is the baked earth ..To make this painting I first applied blue paint to the canvas and smeared it over the whole canvas to create a solid back ground when that dried a few days later I applied a mixture of blue ,terracotta off white and gold and left it to dry in full sun to get a very cracked and dry appearance and each night I was using my hair dryer on it to get the cracks to deepen.. this compleated my "Drought" if you look close enough you can see the imprints from my breast ..
