Oceans of color

This is an organic, abstract, matching 5 piece set of stained glass painted wine bottles and glasses. The bottles measure approx. 12x3" ea, and the glasses are approx. 7".

These look stunningly beautiful on a shelf that gets a lot of natural light. Very unique and eye-catching!

The sun makes the colors really come alive and become animated.

I titled the set "Oceans of color" because the properties of the stained glass paint remind me of fluid bodies of water (i.e. oceans)... How wonderful these would look at an elegant outdoor gathering or dinner party!

Some of the colors I used here are: Bright yellow, amethyst, orange poppy, turquiouse, emerald green, slate blue, pink and white. Several of these colors are blended together to achieve color intensity.

The technique I use to create these is this: First, I lay down the black "liquid leading" outlines, and after that is completely dry, I then proceed to fill in the various sections with color. I use a toothpick to blend and spread colors all the way to the edges of the black outlines, while making sure to tap out any bubbles that occur in the paint.

I show several photos here from differing angles as these translucent pieces do change and look absolutely different from any angle. You can see through the colors to the colors on the other side of the glass, thus creating unusual sparkling color effects. They are simply dazzling to look at!

These would make a great gift for that wine conneseur in your life!

Thanks for looking!
