Funky, Yet Chic!

This is a matching, 5 piece Colorful Wine Decanter set, and it consists of a stained glass painted wine decanter, and 4 matching wine glasses to go with it.

The colors here have a beautiful translucency to them which allows light to pass through and create some wonderful (almost magical) effects. One of the really cool things about these pieces is you can actually see through one color to the next (on the other side of the glass). Another very cool aspect is the incredibly colorful shadows that are cast from the pieces (which you can see here most notably in the first photo).

Some of the colors I used here are: Turquiouse, Ruby Red, Bright Yellow, Amethyst, Orange Poppy, Yellow Ochre, Pumpkin, Slate Blue, Old World, Magenta Royale, and White.

The decanter itself, has a very graceful & elegant shape, bulbous at the bottom, and narrowing in the center toward the top which is slightly flared. It measures approx. 10.5"Hx4.5"W and the opening at the top is approx. 2". The 4 wine glasses are the standard size of a regular wine glass; (approx. 6.5"Hx3"W) each.

The technique I use to create this is:

First, I lay down the black outlines with Liquid Leading. Then, after that dries overnight, I apply the colors meticulously with a toothpick(!), using it to blend and spread the colors all the way to the edges of the black outlines, making sure to pop any bubbles that occur along the way. I usually like to blend two or more "like" colors in a single section, because I feel it creates a more beautiful color "intensity". Then, when I am satisfied with all the color it is left to "cure" or dry for about a week.

PLEASE NOTE: This set is meant for art purposes ONLY, and is not dishwasher safe.

Thanks for looking!
