Liquid Colors
This is a large glass vase that I painted in an organic abstract style using stained glass paints. It measures approx. 9"Hx5"W.
When the sunlight shines through the colors, it casts lovely colorful shadows (which you can see in some of the photos shown here).
The colors have a beautiful translucency or iridescence to them. I achieve this look by blending 2 or more colors in each section.
Some of the colors I used here are: Lime green, turquoise, citrus yellow, ruby red, magenta royale, orange poppy, amethyst and white.
The really interesting thing about this piece is that you can actually see through one color all the way to the color on the other side of the glass, which makes for some VERY unique color combinations. The colors become quite animated, playing off each other, especially when the sunlight shines through them. Every single color affects the way every other color is perceived!
This piece is truly a stunner in person! Absolutely LOVELY to gaze upon. The colors just hit you, and no matter which angle you view it from there is color everywhere!
In fact, I do show it in differing angles in the photos here so you can see for yourself how different it looks from any angle and how the colors interact with each other.
This piece would look fabulous in any window of any home.
I signed it on the bottom.
Please note that this piece is NOT dishwasher safe, so please don't try it. It can be used to store dry goods, or even lotion or liquid on the INSIDE ONLY, but the outside where it's painted, should NOT get wet.
Thanks for looking!
