Over the last three years I have been painting from a more enhanced pallet, which I call "Turning Up the Color." The idea is to use color, balance and composition to capture a deeper "feeling" level in my paintings. Beyond merely capturing the physical features of a subject, I want to also capture its emotional impact, and make that a medium for communication with the viewer.
Art has been a major interest in my life from childhood. Originally a self-taught artist, I later completed a number of courses in studio work through the Virginia Community College system.
Many of the paintings portrayed on this site are available for sale. If they have been sold, they are so marked, and frequently I can also offer an inkjet print of the image made from a digital photograph of the original.
