This painting is one of my new abstract series. Many hold a slight surprise after viewing them a while. The blue, turquoise, purple and violet shades in this one are like those in gem stones. They also have a lot of use from Mother Nature in a crisp morning mountain sky.

It's a tad on the whimsical side because of the highly textured surface and coloration. I also look at it and see the sea in this and it's sister piece, a smaller 16 x 20 companion piece .
