Date of Work:  December, 2005

"I've always enjoyed Southwestern, Native American art and spirituality. There are so many areas that the teachings of the American Natives seem to resonate with the soul. In this case, I've worked with the theme of the vitality of life - water, in the form of a running river. It has an energy that is necessary for the life cycle of Nature and the natural resource is a necessity and sometimes a hardship in living in the Southwest.

The river is meant to be somewhat impressionistic, the overall effect of the painting is probably said to be Expressionist. The colors will show nicely in most any decor. They are earth tones with the ever popular turquoise which is nice in an industrial or loft decor as well. No matter what you see, as the viewer of this painting, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did painting it and find it meets all your current decorator needs. The style is reminiscent of that which we saw in the first 'Oceans Eleven' motion picture, Rat Pack and all. The piece is heavily textured."
