This Bougainvillea is from a series of Antique Botanical Reproductions I did. This particular one is a more modern one than some of the others. They all utilize my original photography and then are finalized in Photoshop to create a book plate type replica.

The photographic elements were shot on a Nikon 35 mm SLR digital. Great in the kitchen or dining area, there are a dozen available in a variety of flora and fauna.

The Bougainvillea though much a tropical plant grows well in our climate. In fact we've had one in the back yard for years. It has to come inside in the Winter but what can one expect from a desert like climate? Our Bougainvillea lives in a moveable pot.

This item looks great when printed on fine art water color paper, especially with some heavy grain in parchment colored paper. I enjoy the appeal of vintage or antique prints and photography. Creating this particular series was a nice challenge.
