I've always been facinated by the bright splash of color on the Emperor Penguins neck. Black... white... grey..... AHHHHHH color!!! Not a little subtle hint but this HUGE LOOK AT ME spash. It finally got the best of me - this urge to draw them - after watching a nature special about the poles. This piece was created on 11" x 14" 93# paper with pigmented india ink.
