Ganesha dances joyfully, holding in one hand a bowl of modaka sweets, and with two other hands he holds aloft a pair of dancing sticks called dandia-ras which are characteristic of the Gujarati folk dancing style. The universe favors him with music, and so he dances with happy abandon, gracefully executing such intricate and wild movements that exceed all comprehension.
In his dancing form, he is called Nritya Ganapati, and as ever he is accompanied by his steadfast mouse companion, the remover of obstacles, who is also Ganesha's vehicle.
