I sketched Half Dome from a backpacking trip I took in 2004. I painted it after returning to my studio. If you look closely you can see people climbing to the top. If you ever get a chance to go to Yosemite, Go! It is so inspiring! This piece is highly textured using a gel medium to build up layers. The granite rock is very textural and realistic. You can touch it and it feels just like granite!
