I sketched this view at Yosemite National Park at the base of Yosemite Falls while on a backpacking trip I took in 2004. I painted it after returning to my studio. If you ever get a chance to go to Yosemite, Go! It is so inspiring! This piece is highly textured using a gel medium to build up layers. The granite rock is very textured.
