My name is Ashley, and I am 19 years old. I live in Texas with my parents and younger brother and sister. I am currently attending a community college near my home where I am working on my basics with a focus on Art. After receiving my Associate of Arts degree I plan to transfer to another university to finish my degree in Art Education.

Before college, I was home schooled all my life, and I truly enjoyed learning from the home. People often asked me if I would rather go to public school, and I always answered "No!" Being home schooled gave me the chance to expand my horizons and also to see and experience things I might not have done. Along with painting I also enjoy playing the piano, reading, being involved in my youth group and Bible studies and helping with children.

I started painting at the age of fourteen, but before that time I didn't know I had the talent for painting, or even the strong passion I have today. I was directed for a short time by Laurie Elle Pace, but now I do all my own work from my easel in my studio. And for the majority of my high school I helped assist an art class while continuing my own art and school.

I believe that art is a lifestyle. When I look at God's creation, I see the art and beauty that pours out of everything around me. I am inspired by the simple things in life and that is what motivates me to keep painting.

I want others to be able to enjoy my work as well. I prefer working in oils, but I have also done watercolors, acrylics, and pastels, and mulitple drawings. I hope through my art you will see the beauty of this world.
