I have always had a love of art looking at it and creating it. I mention looking at it because when I was very young my Grandmother took me to THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO and turned me on so to speak.

I began painting seriously when I was a freshman in high school which was many many moons ago. I obtained my degree in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University. I continued painting through my college years. Graphic Design however opened up new interests in myself, such as close attention to detail and my love of patterns and type which sometimes I try to incorporate into my paintings and drawings.

When I am busy working on my art I feel like I enter another world and time stands still. Many times my work takes on a life of its own while I am creating it, and that is very exciting.
