This work demonstrates distance from the beloved, I.e., from a close personal relationship as in the death of a human or an animal, as in divorce, or war; from the well-known as from home and the community, or from the spiritual, as in God. Most of my paintings deal with color-field experiments and may or may not contain recognizable images, but perhaps, express an emotion or a human condition instead. I paint for the joy of the painterly surface and to solve color challenges, as well as to affect the viewer.
