I am influenced by the pen work of the 1920’s artists, Flagg, Gibson and Smedley and the complex paintings of Vulliard, whose interiors were populated with intricate designs. My intent is to create a decorative complexity, while still maintaining a recognizable environment. The stars and the borders in each piece helped to keep the pieces cohesive and to identify them as belonging to a single artist.
