I was born & raised in New Jersey, where I still live. As with most artists, I
loved drawing from an early age, frequently on my homework & during class. I
studied studio art in college (Lehigh University) and at the Lacoste School of the Arts in France, attended cartoon school (Joe Kubert School) and have taken assorted art courses at the School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, and the NJ Center for Visual Arts. I have had paintings in several group shows over the years, as well as a piece published in the book "Canceled Flight".
My
paintings are primarily portraits of the citizens of Wiggly World. They
feature a parade of unique characters, some recurring (most notably Wiggly Worm
- local celebrity and star of stage, screen, and TV), who walk the fine line between cute and disturbing. Humor and a lack of pretentiousness are very important to me; I
don't take myself too seriously and I don't expect my paintings to take
themselves too seriously either. My inspiration comes from my husband Chris, my
three wonderful children, and my goofy animals.B>
