I wanted to create a butterfly fairy not often seen. A butterfly fairy that I feel is more reflective of me. "Napptural Butterfly " reminds me soooo much of who I am now. About five months ago I decided to cut all my hair off and where it napturally (nappy and natural). I wore relaxers (a chemical used to straighten textured hair) for the majority of my life and soon learned how harmful they are. They are actually more harmful and contain more damaging chemicals then drain cleaners!! So in this painting you see a mythical creature who has decided to embrace her natural self and let her wings out. She is confident and free She has decided to define her own beauty and not go by what society or the media perceives to be beautiful.
