Thank you for coming to see my newest slate, quite possibly the best one yet!
This is Rhiannon. There is a lovely story about her that I will be listing in her 10 page parchment story that I hand penned and illustrated quite a few years ago now. For now I want to share this information about Rhiannon with you as well:
Rhiannon, the Celtic goddess of the moon and inspiration was a Welsh goddess. The goddess Rhiannon's name meant “Divine Queen” of the fairies. In her myths, Rhiannon was promised in marriage to an older man she found repugnant. Defying her family’s wishes that Rhiannon, like other Celtic goddesses, declined to marry one of her "own kind".
In some versions of the legend, Rhiannon was the Celtic goddess who later became Vivienne, best known as the Lady of the Lake. She was the Celtic goddess who gave Arthur the sword Excalibur, empowering him to become King in the legends of Camelot.
The story of the Celtic goddess Rhiannon reminds us of the healing power of humor, tears, and forgiveness. The goddess Rhiannon is a goddess of movement and change who remains steadfast, comforting us in times of crisis and of loss.
This is an incredible piece that incorporates her royalty as Queen, her animal spirit the horse, and a golden bird symbolizing the power to sing one to either sleep or death, depending on the person.
Entirely inspired by knowledge and meditation, this is truly a beautiful gift to behold. It is signed and titled on the back, and is about the size of a regular dinner plate. She is sure to transform the space she inhabits in your sacred place.
THANK YOU again for looking!
