The dark paths beyond the lights and sounds of a carnival sideshow bleaches the colour from people... turning the most colourful characters into black and white.

Muse is a recreation of a memory of an encounter behind the facade with a pale woman who was on her way to her booth.

Huge eyes in a pale face. The only glitter, her earrings, catching the light of the midway.

Muse is a bit uncomfortable to look at. Creepy [my sister says] and fitting of her inspiration.

This piece was the precurser my sculpture Jessica... and is my first try at a skillet.

The bright colors on the side come from a Chinese ginger jar.
