The history of decorating eggs goes back to pre-recorded time. All cultures have, at one time or another, had a tradition of decorating and giving eggs as gifts, many people have heard of Fabrege and Pysanky eggs. Three years ago I decided to paint dogs on eggshell for Easter and found that artist are still creating heirloom eggs today. I decided to create my own unquie style of dog egg art. I paint only on real eggshell, and use the finest of materials I can find. My dog egg art is represented along with many other very talented egg artist by the Egg Art Gallery in VA.
This adorable Bichon Frise mother and her puppy Easter scene was hand painted onto a REAL goose eggshell. This is a unique one of a kind piece of Bichon Frise egg art. The main background color on the back part of the egg is a color is called Wisteria, it's a very light puplish blue color. It is a new color that I have not used before. I've added a clear ultra fine glitter on top of the color portion of the egg except the portrait. This sweet Bichon mother and puppy painting is surrounded by sparkling Swarovski rhinestone chain and the finest gold trims (see the photos). The miniature painting that is only 3 inches in size. The scene is of a cute little puppy cuddling up next to mom to rest ater hunting out Easter eggs. The egg is topped off with a gold mesh bow and a ceramic rose .
I found this ornate stand and thought it would look perfect for this egg and it is included with this auction.
*The shell has been emptied and cleaned with bleach and water.
