Sitting in my studio one day, I decided I wanted to create a piece that was both small and delicate, but kept loosing focus. I have a tendancy to unconsciously fold tiny scraps of paper into fans when I am daydreaming at my desk, and I do believe that is how this mixed media miniature came to be... This is an original miniature collage, measuring 2" x 2". I have hand folded the tiny slippers and fan. The slippers are embellished with deep burgundy flowers and shimmery green paint. The fan is folded from a 1/2" square of embossed white paper, and features a miniature hand made tassel in an irridecent thread with matching bead. Both lay on a "rug" of taupe and gold paper, with golden and white accents. This is a teeny tiny piece of artwork, signed and dated on the back.
