Picasso's drawing is the basis for this work. Tony Roberts has been exploring drawing within glass, using metals - bronze in this case - as his pencil. The finished work consists of a fine sheet of fused glass, 1mm thick, with the figure outlined in a glass-bronze alloy. This is a beautiful artist's proof - an experimental work - never to be repeated. It is supplied framed, backed by a mirror, to provide light and protection for the work.
