I was 2 or 3 they woke me up and had a puppy for me (I have a feeling they needed a good cattle dog!!). I was rather sleepy and really didn't know what all the fuss was about. The dog saved my life several times, sort of a farm babysitter, I couldn't climb anything or get too close to water. Every child should have a dog like this.
