I am the Lord of the Thresholds

Ganesh represents the face of change which dawns at every new situation we confront in life. He stands at the gateway of perception.

This piece is the culmination of many, many failed attempts to express the depth of feeling I have for this shows subject matter.

I chose Ganesh as my subject as I needed his assistance in many areas of my life at the time. After weeks of experimentation, unifinished traditional media paintings and drawings, I sat with a small golden figure of Ganesh that resides on my desk, amidst the chaos...and finally something came.

In this instance, he indeed is the remover of obstacles.
