Date of Work:  Jan. 2007

According to the myths, the majority of the centaurs were a roudy, lustful, highly destructive lot that finally got themselves beaten in a vicious battle and driven from human society after making themselves unwelcome at a wedding by abducting the new bride and forcing their unwanted attentions on her. Those were the bad boys that ruined it all for the centaurs in general, but, there were a very few that were friends to mankind, honerable, highly skilled in many disciplines such as hunting and music, and, were very wise and much loved! I like to think my centaurs are decended from those noble and heroic few. In my imagined world, centaurs and dragons are mortal enemies preying on and hunting one another and in this painting, the centaur hunter has rushed forward in hopes of delivering a fatal wound to the grounded dragon, but, anything can happen in the blink of a dragons eye! The outcome is far from certain! This is an original oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are painted so framing is optional but not necessary. The painting is signed on the front, and titled and signed on the back. Thankyou for looking
