Media:  oil on birch
Dimensions:  4x6
Date of Work:  Feb. 2007

Dusty is a 4yr. old, dark buckskin mustang mare that was my childhood horse. She was a sweet-natured and willing mare that came to us as a greenbroke 2yr old filly with a freckled face. As she grew, she lost the freckles and gained beautiful big golden dapples in her silky hair coat. "Dusty Lady" is an OSWOA (Original Small Work Of Art) oil painting, and, as with all OSWOAs, it is an original miniature work of art in the set 4x6 format . It is painted with thick, lucious strokes of oil paint in an impressionistic-realistic style. This small format oil painting is on a gessoed and sanded 1/8 inch thick birch plywood.
