About Me
About Me
I am currently a senior at Carnegie Mellon
University's College of Fine Art working towards a major in Fine Art and debt (haha).
I also in enjoy photography and have a strong interest in fashion design.
About My Work
I have decided to call myself a mixed-media artist
because I tend to use different materials in my work from actual clothing to
magazines and photos. I have been influenced by other mixed media artists such
as Sigmar Polke.
For as long as I can remember, I have been an
artist. As a child I enjoyed painting, drawing, and creating crazy things out of
whatever was lying around. I am not sure if art-making is my calling, but it is
something I enjoy doing and will probably do for many years to come.
Photography has been something I have always wanted
to do. Just this past semester, I spent about 4 months abroad in Paris. There I
received the awesome opportunity to do a lot of self-directed work at ENSBA. I
was instructed how to do photography, entirely in French! But I somehow managed
to come up with some pieces that I am very proud of. Take some time and look at
my Photography portfolio!!

Philosophies
About Art
I have none whatsoever. I happen to go to a school
where the idea of the concept in art is heavily examined. I feel that focusing
on concept tends to alienate me from my art, and from the freedom that comes
with art-making. When someone looks at my work, I prefer people to have their
own ideas and perceptions. I feel that a finished piece has been successful when
the perceptions of it are as varied as the number of people who view it. I do
not enjoy hearing the long philosophical explanations behind other peoples
work....sometimes work does not need explanation!
Please take the time to look through my portfolio
and see all my work! Any feedback at all would be appreciated.
