This large oil painting represents a Bodhisattva, "emerging from the Earth". Bodhisattvas are figures appearing in the buddhist tradition. His wings makes him look like an angel. They represent human dignity, but a Bodhisattva resembles indeed to an angel under many aspects : his wisdom, courage, and his great compassion to help other people.
