This painting represents Caer Ibormeith about to transform herself into a swan; her lover Angus McOg is waiting for her so they can fly away together.
This is not a typical moment of the legend, just a moment I imagined, after the long trial which led Angus to finally find his beloved Caer, which had appeared to him in vision, and after the three days in which they sang all the world around them asleep ;P

This legend is said to be the one which inspired Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
