This is a simple little painting of a nude bather, which is a very classic subject. Stylistically, I revisited a method I enjoy very much because of the tones it allows me to achieve. That method includes priming the surface black, and building up the figure with white, olive green, and varying shades of ochre. It really achieves a richness of tone and a subdued, quiet piece. Because dark colors relect light, photographing them can be tricky-you'll notice a glare on the photographs. You won't see that, however, in person. Also, canvas paper, which this piece is painted on, is great, because it can be easily matted and placed into a standard picture frame. I suggest an 11x14 or even a 16x20 mat and frame. Thanks for looking!
