This is the third in a series that explores different emotions. I named it "Serenity", because the figure is captured in a moment of quiet stillness; that moment when you're all alone with nothing but your thoughts. It's a very tranquil piece, and the colors harmonize quite well. The background is a very earthy venetian red, and the figure is draped in a calming sky blue wrap. The creamy beige at the base of the painting almost makes the figure appear to be floating. There's a lot of texture to this piece, especially on the fabric and base, where I scratched into the paint with a palette knife. It's quite dynamic, yet still serene.
