This piece is available as a print at: http://Viva_Candita.imagekind.com This is my most imfamous piece. It was originally a self portrait assigment my senior year of college that took on a life of its own! This is the first piece the seven deadly sins. Here you see a woman (yes the model is me!) sneering at the viewer in frustration while demons and imps taunt her. She barely contains her wrath too! One holds out a bleeding heart and the others dance about in veils as if they're male belly dancers. A cold, unfeeling viewer watches the seen from behind a another veil. The demons have the shape of men, the heads of skulls and their private parts are masks that have tongues sticking out of them. The images were inspired by the paintings of Frida Kahlo, retablo paintings, Odilon Redon's dark etchings, and Alfred Kubin's twisted take on women. It's a visual assault and a sure conversation starter!
