I always thought Dr. Seuss books where a bit twisted in both verse and illustration, a bit far fetched from reality, but magical and surreal to a child’s imagination, including my own.

My all time favorite Dr. Seuss story has always been "Green Eggs and Ham”. I remember my mom having to convince me that green eggs and ham didn’t actually exist, when I was being extremely persistent and insisted she make some for me. It was just as disappointing as when I found out that Santa Claus or the Easter bunny where not real. I was devastated but never stopped dreaming of those precious green goodies.

I recently read a book on the eccentric artist Salvador Dali, and his ability to transfer his dreams onto canvas. This show was the perfect way for me to express how I viewed my childhood dream of eating green eggs and ham, very un-Dr. Seuss like, very ‘not in the style of’, but a way of me being able to put my dream into visual form. I used Photoshop to digitally manipulate images to create a collision of the eccentric worlds of Dr. Seuss, a favorite surreal artist, and me.
