Typically mating for life, crows build their large nests from twigs, bark, grass and moss and possibly a shiny object or two. After 3 to 7 blue-green brown-speckled eggs are layed, the female and sometimes the male will set on them for 18 days.
When the blind, featherless simps are born, mom, dad and even siblings from the previous years brood will all help feed and care for the young.
This is an acrylic/ink painting, aceo sized (2.5 x 3.5 in)
done on a page from a 1902 edition of Scott & Denny's Elementary English Composition, mounted to chipboard.
The original has been sold in my etsy shop.
