I love the geology and vast skies of the western states. The views there just blow me away. This is one of a series of paintings done after an extended road trip out west.

It was painted with foliage and mountains abstracted as shapes and colors. Lots of glazes were used to let the colors glow.

But as in most of my western paintings, there is that faraway land in the distance that makes me want to go hiking, exploring, or flying.
