Robot girl is loosely based on the female robot in Metropolis 1927 silent science fiction film directed by Fritz Lang and written by Lang and Thea von Harbou.

She was carefully painted to show her silver shell and her rivets, but this robot has been given a heart, becuase as the tag line for Metropolis states "There can be no understanding between the hands and the brain unless the heart acts as mediator. "
