This girl is based on many of my doll paintings,or big eyed painting.She was an experiment if I could translate the paintings into a more 3 dimensional piece.

I hand drew the basic shape I wanted for my girl on flannel material, cut it out and machine sewed the doll.She was then stuff with fibre fill, and gessoed approximately 8 times to give a stiff surface to paint on. This is not a doll you would want to cuddle with no matter how sad her eyes are. Once the gessoed had completely dried she was then painted with acrylic paint
