This painting was originally started in the early 1980s. I worked on it off and on and then it would sit in my studio and wait patiently for me to pick it up again and continue working on it. Primarily I would put it aside until I was inspired to fill in another adventure.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about this painting is that the Adventurer looks remarkably like my son but was painted long before I was married and had my son. (insert twilight zone theme here)
I always promise myself that someday I will return to it and finish it but I'm not certain how realistic a promise that is. I have grown rather fond of its incompleteness and undefined areas that allow me to imagine far more adventures for this Adventurer than were I to complete the painting.
