Elegant blue hostas with last remaining raindrops. The recent rain lingers in the air as the last few drops of rain dissolve away. You can almost smell the fresh air. Blue Hostas is a meditation that evokes calm while exploring its gentle curves.

This painting was quite a challenge which is precisely why I decided to paint it. The elegant lines were just captivating but all the subtle color changes were maddening. By the time I finished this painting I hated it. It happens when I set myself a challenge that I tend to focus on what I'm not achieving rather than what I have achieved. It took several months of separation before I could look at this piece and truly be most satisfied. Blue Hostas has become one of my favorites.
