It is all too rare, when your bread and butter comes from commission work, that a piece is just plain fun to do. This piece inspired by the art of Doris H. David, ("D"), was one of them. "D" has often visited the themes of great romantic love, and superheroes in the pop art comic style. Both themes are attributed to her husband, which I find so incredibly wonderful! In that vein, I commissioned the help of my own Superman, husband John Thompson, to help in the design of this piece. (He is a master at comic book art!) I wanted to capture the romance and charm so evident in "D"s pieces and Golden Age comics.
