This impasto oil painting depicts a sumer landscape exclusively painted with a palette knife. With this piece I worked from the middle and radiated out. The palette knife strokes I utilized created an almost "pixelated" or mosaic feel to the piece. After the background was dry I went back in and painted the trees, scraping the paint over top of the thick chunks in the backdrop. Last were the details such as the flowers, which create a visual buzz through complimentary colors. I hope you enjoy!
