My name is Rachel Van Winkle. I'm 26 years old and have been painting and drawing all of my life. I have had some formal training, but for the most part, I am self taught. I've always been drawn to the mythical and fantastic, and that is usually what I paint. I am inspired by my children, nature, music, and fairy tales.

Although I have used other mediums, watercolor is my first choice because I think it has a magical quality to it. It usually takes me upwards of 20 hours to complete a large work.
